Welcome to THE A-TEAM, and the 2010/2011 Van Cleve school year. Mr. Silknitter, Mrs. Koopman, Mrs. Blackmore, Mrs. Queen, and I have been meeting and planning all summer to make this school year your best school year! Our Number 1 Goal is to make sure you get a good education. We also want you to have a happy school year. I hope to see all of you during THE A-TEAM's orientation on Tuesday, August 17 at 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

USS Tarawa LHA-1, Eagle of the Sea My ship, USS Tarawa LHA-1, was decommissioned in San Diego this past December after thirty-three years of service to America. Here are a few pictures of her decommissioning. She was the best ship in the fleet! I lived on her for four years. The pictures were taken by one of my shipmates, Keith. What memories! CLICK HERE.

You can order them in any size needed. Be just like THE A-TEAM teachers with your SPIRITED tee-shirt. Let the rest of Van Cleve know what team you are on at school. Orders will be taken in early September. What a great tee-shirt to wear during the Washington, D.C. trip in May. CLICK HERE to check-it-out.

Get Ready to Dance A-Team! The Electric Slide is The Official Song and Dance of Van Cleve. Dancing brings the students together from the different elementary schools. Van Cleve is the melting pot of all the elementary schools in Troy. Another reason why The Electric Slide is The Official Song and Dance of Van Cleve is because it's fun. Sometimes it's OK to just do something fun in school. Why? Because IT'S ELECTRIC!

A Special Message to My Students! Doctor Dolittle was able to talk with the animals. He was also able to understand what the animals were saying to him. Well, I have some very special kittens that would like to talk with my students about their school year at Van Cleve. I know what you are thinking, "Can kittens really talk?" Yes they can! Just click here...

2010/2011 School Year: I recommend this book. Math on Call is a great handbook for students or even adults having trouble in specific areas of Mathematics. The book is split up in sections, subsections, and types of the shown subsection. The best part is the book does not put in a bunch of confusing mathematics terms but instead gives clear and fast examples. It also shows more than one method of solving the type of problem so you can find what method is best for you. This book is worth every penny, and it is vital to understanding and success in mathematics. - Rick Holly
